This module looks exactly like the VIPER Short Haul Card and falls under the same usage criteria. It differs in that it is totally passive and does not insert power and control as the Short Haul card does. This module is meant exclusively for headend application or for after-the-fact changes in which VIPER Central Cards are in place and some video signals need to be redirected to a local closet device.

Although designed to match with the VP-5010 NP chassis, the module’s lack of backplane connecting hardware makes it also suitable for insertion within the powered chassis model when the system design employs same in the head end or closet.
