The AD8367 is a high-performance variable gain amplifier designed to be used at IF frequencies up to 500MHz. An externally applied analog gain control voltage of 0 to 1 volt, scales the 45dB of gain control range to provide 20mV/dB output. The precise linear-dB gain control is achieved with a proprietary X-AMP architecture, consists of a variable attenuator network fed by a Gaussian interpolator yielding precise linear gain adjustment.

In addition the AD8367 has an integrated square law detector, which enables the part to be used as an AGC solution and provides a detected received signal strength indication (RSSI) output voltage.

The AD8367 has been specified for operation at common IF frequencies 70 MHz, 140 MHz, 190 MHz and 240 MHz found in the cellular CDMA/GSM and W-CDMA applications.

The AD8367 is fabricated on a high performance silicon bipolar process, package in 14-lead thin shrunk small outline (TSSOP) package fully specified over -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
