The Instituto Adventista del Uruguay (IAU), located in Progreso, Canelones, is a Christian educational institution with over seven decades of history. Offering education from elementary school to high school, IAU also provides a boarding school system that welcomes students from across South America, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Peru. Its dedication to quality education rooted in Biblical-Christian values has solidified its reputation in the region.
CHALLENGE
IAU faced the need to upgrade its 30 classrooms, where teachers were still relying on projectors, traditional whiteboards, and markers for their lessons. While functional, this setup required instructors to bring their own laptops and equipment, complicating logistics and restricting pedagogical possibilities. Recognizing the urgency of modernization, the institute sought to implement a technological solution that would streamline teaching and provide students with a more modern, engaging learning experience.
SOLUTION
The IAU decided to replace traditional projectors and whiteboards with 30 ViewSonic ViewBoard IFP6552 65-inch interactive displays, complemented by the myViewBoard software solution. This change marked the start of a new era for the institution, where technology became a fundamental tool for teaching.
RESULT
Since the implementation of the interactive displays, the impact on classroom dynamics has been remarkable. Classes that once relied on analog tools have become fully interactive and dynamic. Teachers can now upload their lesson plans to the cloud, easily access them from the displays, and present multimedia content that enhances student learning.
“Since the incorporation of the ViewBoard interactive displays, classroom work has changed not 100% but 1,000%,” said Carlos Caballero, IT Manager at IAU. He added: “We have been working with ViewSonic since 2007 when we purchased 30 projectors to equip each classroom. In August of last year, we didn’t hesitate to replace the projectors with interactive displays. We are so pleased with the quality of the brand that we chose to purchase ViewSonic products directly.”
Caballero further stated: “Not only did we incorporate the ViewBoard interactive displays and myViewBoard software, but all the monitors used in the institution, including those in our computer room, as well as the projectors for the auditoriums, are also from ViewSonic. This makes us a 100% ViewSonic institution.”
