First Lutron Ballasts Capable of Dimming to 1% for T5 Linear Lamps

Coopersburg, Pa. (October, 2009) – Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. announces the expansion of its Hi-lume® 3D line with the introduction of multi-voltage ballasts capable of dimming T5 linear fluorescent lamps to 1%.

Ballasts are now available in 1- and 2-light configurations for 14W, 21W and 28W T5 lamps, and offer full range, continuous flicker-free dimming from 100% to 1% measured relative light output.

The new ballasts are compatible with Lutron 3-wire fluorescent controls and EcoSystem® digital components, including the GRAFIK Eye® QS and Quantum® control options. Integrating Hi-lume 3D 1% technology into designs provides full control over the lighting in any space, from a single room to an entire building. Users will enjoy unprecedented levels of flexibility and comfort while saving energy.

Targeted to the commercial installation and retrofit markets, the 1-inch-high design installs easily into new construction or existing spaces, and seamlessly integrates with low profile architectural fixtures, making it an ideal choice for any executive, computer-intensive, healthcare, education or presentation space. All ballasts are tested for performance with Phillips, Sylvania, GE and other commercially available lamps.
