Montreal — 27 March 2018 — Matrox® Graphics Inc. and leading supplier of digital signage player PCs, IBASE, are pleased to announce the IBASE SI-61S nine-monitor system. Designed specifically to drive 3x3 video walls for digital signage applications, this Matrox C900-powered bundle features nine HDMI ports for simplified connectivity as well as a dedicated graphics processor designed to power all nine displays as one contiguous desktop at the full 5,760 x 3,240 resolution. This 18.7 megapixel signage player maintains the popular Full-HD aspect ratio of 1.78 while allowing nine times the actual pixels of Full HD for up-front-and-personal digital signage applications. This is 2.25 times more resolution than 4K (8.29 megapixels).
“Scaling HD or 4K content to fit across nine HD panels is a cheap and convenient way to power 3x3 video walls that are viewed from a distance,” says Samuel Recine, director of Sales – Americas and Asia Pacific, Matrox Graphics Inc. “But retailers, gaming houses and casinos, transport agencies, hospitality businesses, stadiums, and arenas, are also putting video walls in windows that patrons pass only a few inches away from. At this distance, the effects of scaling are visible to viewers and powering each screen of a 3x3 video wall at its native resolution is unbeatable for visual acuity, fine text, very sharp lines, image clarity, and overall customer engagement.”
“Based on 7th Gen Intel® Core™ desktop processors, the brand new IBASE SI-61S is an awesome digital signage hardware solution for video wall applications.” said Jackson Mao, product planning division vice president of IBASE. “Video walls with high resolution are now in high demand, especially 3x3 display configuration. We’re excited to showcase at DSE the IBASE SI-61S powered by a PCI Express® x16 Matrox C900 graphics card that supports nine outputs with the best display density and performance.”
In addition to convenient I/O, resolution support, GPU performance, and industrial-grade reliability of the IBASE SI-61S nine-head system, the Matrox C900 card also supports further video wall software expansion including compatibility with the Matrox MuraControl video wall management software, the Matrox NetAPI video wall development API, and a host of Matrox-compatible third-party video wall control and management suites.
